Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Sabine Kunst

Sabine Kunst holds a doctorate in water management and a doctorate in political science. Her habilitation was in civil engineering and surveying at the University of Hannover, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying, in 1990. From 1991 to 2007, she held the chair at the University of Hannover for Biological Process Engineering.

She was president of the University of Potsdam from 2007 to 2010 and president of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) from 2010 to 2011, then moved into politics as minister for science, research and culture in Brandenburg. From 2016 to the end of 2021, she was president of Humboldt University in Berlin.

She has been a member of the board of the Joachim Herz Foundation since January 15, 2022, and was elected chairwoman of the board on January 19, 2022.
