The organisation at a glance

Cooperation between the Executive Board and the Board of Trustees

The division of responsibilities between the Executive Board and the Board of Trustees is based on the model of a stock corporation: the Executive Board manages the foundation's business, while the Board of Trustees advises and supervises it. The joint foundation committee, which is composed of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Board, deals with fundamental issues relating to the foundation's strategic orientation.

Honorary chairwoman

Petra Herz

Petra Herz has been Honorary Chairwoman of the Joachim Herz Foundation since 2016. Prior to this, she was Chairwoman of the Board since the foundation was established in 2008 and took over the management after the death of her husband Joachim Herz.

Petra Herz acts as an advisor to the foundation in her role as Honorary Chairwoman.
