Broad response to the "innovate! Center"

We are delighted with the broad response to our call for applications for the "innovate! Center" (formerly "Joachim Herz Transfer Center").

In the first phase of the application process, we received a large number of expressions of interest from large and medium-sized universities and technical universities, as well as smaller locations and universities of applied sciences from all over Germany. The diversity of the research fields represented and the range of applications show the wealth of ideas of the institutions and highlight the great need in the German higher education system for structural changes in the transfer process.

With the institutional funding of the interdisciplinary "innovate! Centers", the Joachim Herz Foundation aims to help overcome systemic barriers in the transfer process and at the same time create efficient structures at universities in order to accelerate knowledge and technology-based innovation. The "innovate! Centers" are also central components of the foundation's new strategic direction.

The first call for proposals for the "innovate! Centers" focuses on the topic of "New materials for sustainable technologies".
