German Prize for Economics of the Joachim Herz Stiftung
Starting in 2016 the Joachim Herz Foundation awards it’s German Prize for Economics every second year. The prize aims at fostering interdisciplinary research in economics and incentivizes innovative research approaches. The award honors scientists in two categories:
The category Best research award for senior researcher recognizes outstanding achievements of established scholars who have contributed significantly to the further development of economic research. In the category Best paper award for junior researcher young researchers are honored for their work.
We award the prize to different and changing strands of economics research. In 2016, the theme has been experimental economics and in 2018 health economics. The prize in 2020 was awarded to scholars in the field of labor economics. In 2022 the theme will be environmental economics. Only researchers working at a German research institution are eligible for the prize.
