YES! - Young Economic Summit The largest German school competition on economic and social challenges

Students of grades 10 to 12 come in close contact to economic research. Over a period of half a year they work together with researchers of renowned economic research institutes to develop their own solutions for acute challenges in today’s economy and society.
The students present their ideas at regional conferences and the federal final and discuss them with other school teams and international experts from business, politics, research and society.
The students sharpen their view on global economic relations and they experience that they have a voice and may take steps in shaping the economy. They take up responsibility and are the voice of the next generation as they are discussing some major challenges of today and tomorrow.
The YES! Young Economic Summit is solution based and research oriented. It focuses on the cooperation between students and researchers from well-known research institutes. That makes it different from many other competitions.
The YES! is a joint project of the Joachim Herz Foundation and the ZBW-Leibniz Informationszentrum Wirtschaft and is under the patronage of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The YES! is supported by research partners like Deutsche Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW Berlin), European School of Management and Technology (ESMT Berlin), German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA Hamburg), ifo Institut - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (University München), Institut für Weltwirtschaft (IfW Kiel), Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (IWH Halle), Institut für Wirtschaftspolitik an der Universität zu Köln (iwp Köln), Leibniz-Gemeinschaft, das RWI – Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (Essen), die Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, (KU), Wissenschaftszentrum für Sozialforschung (WZB Berlin) and Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung (ZEW Mannheim).
