Website Provides Information on MINT

Starting today, a new website will provide information on educational opportunities in Hamburg in the fields of mathematics, IT, natural sciences, and technology – MINT for short. The website ( www.MINTforum.de ) lists 30 initiatives geared towards day nurseries, school classes, groups, and individual pupils. The offerings range from projects, competitions, and lectures to exciting laboratories and workshops where children and adolescents can experience and explore the natural sciences.

MINTforum Inspires Enthusiasm for Natural Sciences

The portal has been designed as part of the newly founded “MINTforum Hamburg”. MINTforum Hamburg concentrates on getting more schoolchildren interested in the natural sciences and motivating pupils to consider the attractive and wide range of degree courses and career opportunities in this field. The initiators include the Joachim Herz Stiftung, the Körber Foundation, the Nordmetall Foundation, and the Landesinstitut für Lehrerbildung und Schulentwicklung (State Institute for Teacher Training and School Development). The aim is to compile all the Hamburg MINT initiatives within the MINTforum and create more awareness of these opportunities among teachers, parents, and pupils. Schools, universities, authorities, companies, and foundations will be connected by an online network within the MINTforum and by means of events.
