A gate to a wider view of the world

Wir haben Usmon Kuchimov, unseren MLB-Fellow des Studienjahres 2009/2010 kurz vor seinem Abschluss gebeten, uns seine Eindrücke zu schildern. Herr Kuchimov kommt aus Usbekistan.

Unforgettable memories

Now, when the program is almost over, if to sit down and look back at the whole year in Bucerius Law School, I see all four seasons of the year filled with unforgettable memories. Studying together with such a diversified group, each and every one coming from different parts of the world and bringing the piece of his or her own culture, was the brightest part of the whole MLB experience. Joachim Herz MLB Program was a gate to a wider view of the world and opportunities it gives us.

Enjoying different cultures: Thanksgiving and Dragon Boating

Here, I would like to list out some of the events in the program I favored most of all:
• First live-in week in WHU Vallendar, where we all gathered together almost every evening and sang different songs with our Georgian student and singer George Meshke accompanying with guitar.
• Thanksgiving dinner organized by students coming from USA, where we set over the traditional thanksgiving dinner and had nice talks.
• Going out to the new year show together with Joachim Herz Stiftung. It was an amazing show and nice dinner.
• Second live-in week in WHU Vallendar, where we last time enjoyed warm welcome of WHU and its incredible facilities. Plus, we were able to get to know the new MBA group.
• Dragon Boating in Alster! Luckily it was a sunny day and the Alster was beautiful that day. Some team work with getting boats moving was awesome!

A huge range of courses

I want also point out the knowledge and skills the MLB program provides to its participants and such huge range of different courses. Personally, I think I am very lucky to be in this program and enjoy all opportunities it gives us. It is not only for one or two years, it is for the life time experience!
Most importantly, using this chance given to me, I want to thank Joachim Herz Stiftung for its support and belief in me. Without Stiftung’s support, I cannot imagine how I could have realized my dream coming to Hamburg and study. My plan after the program is to stay in touch and be an active part of Joachim Herz Stiftung Alumni activities.
